A Touch of Modesty! ^__~” (NSFW)

I love the curvaceous look of the large bust and shapely L-bust on Dollfie Dreams, but one of the things that irks me is the extremely obvious nipples that can poke through most outfits! Call it a crazy girl thing, but I wouldn’t walk out with my headlights on full bright so it’s not a look I care for on my dolls either!

I’ve been meaning to try sanding down the nipples on a bust piece for a while, and got around to trying it today. I’ve added the NSFW tag because there are naked doll busts đŸ˜›

So here are a couple of busts that I have laying around that I wanted to experiment with. On the left is a DDdy3 normal bust, and on the right is a DD2 L-bust. Upon inspecting the inside of the busts I noticed that the nipples are not hollow, so I could get away with some sanding without damaging the bust piece.

How to Remove & Change Eyes on an older Dollfie Dream (with video!)

Time to re-visit the topic of removing eyes from DD’s again! I’ve previously written a tutorial on this topic, and made a short video showing how I removed the eyes from DD Rise Kujikawa. I received some feedback saying that although the tutorial was helpful to show how easy it is to remove eyes out of a new doll made with the soft vinyl, older DD girls pose different challenges.

I wanted to test this out, so here is the lovely Sakura Matou to help me out!
Sakura Matou eye change
Sakura was released at Dolpa 23 in May 2010, so she’s made of the old harder vinyl. I had a nightmare of a time trying to pry her headcap off! T___T” I had to use my blow-dryer to warm up the vinyl and then apply brute force! >__<”

Rather than document with photos (since I’ve already done that previously with Hinata), I made a real-time video of me removing Sakura’s eyes. I really wasn’t sure what to expect o_0″

Moe’s Sweet Treats!

I hope all my friends had a lovely Valentine’s Day! Today Moe wants to share some beautiful French desserts with you! Here she has a plate of macarons and a Raspberry-Rose eclair!

Want something more substantial than that? Try the Religieuse Rose from LadurĂ©e! It’s a delicate fondant-crowned crème-filled choux puff and baby crème-filled puff on top.

In the mood for something more decadent? How about the Saint-Honoré Rose Framboise from Ladurée?

With it’s delicately rose-flavoured chantilly cream, miniature choux pastry puffs and fresh strawberries it is a delight for eyes and the tastebuds!

Moe’s delicious treats were hand-crafted by Snowfern Clover (without a magnifying glass!! 0__0″). I’ve been a fan of her beautiful miniatures for quite some time, but she has only more recently posted 1:3 scale items on her etsy shop. With the obsession that my sister and I have for LadurĂ©e, and the Saint-HonorĂ© Rose Framboise in particular I couldn’t pass on these beautiful miniature pastries!

My sister and I have dined and shopped at many LadurĂ©e tearooms and boutiques in London, Paris and Tokyo; it’s a bit of an addiction really! Here’s a photo from last November when we went to the LadurĂ©e tearoom in Harrods in London and had a decadent afternoon tea!

How to Trim & Style Bangs on a Doll Wig

I wanted to share a quick tutorial on how I trim the bangs on my doll’s wigs ^__^”

This is a new wig that I just bought, but as you can see the bangs are WAY too long in the front. Nana looks very silly right now! (I believe my European friends refer to bangs a ‘fringe,’ just to avoid any confusion! ^__~” )
IMG_8236
I’ve found that most doll wigs from various companies come with their bangs a bit long – I think it’s just the way that they are manufactured and it’s not a bad thing. Since there are many types of dolls out there, with differently sized and shaped heads, having the bangs a bit long gives some styling options.

Of course, an easy way to solve this is to just brush the bangs to one side, maybe apply a bit of product to help it stay put, or put a clip.

While this doesn’t look horrible, I don’t really like it. Think of it this way, if I were to scale things up, that would be a very big hair clip sitting smack in the middle of my forehead! If I went out in public like that I’d look very foolish! >__<”

Casual Portraits

I had a short photo session with a few of my girls this morning since the sun was shining and I was awake! (Believe me, after sleeping most of January away, this was quite something!) The first order of business was to take a new photo for my website banner – I hope you guys like it! I went with a soft pink wardrobe theme since Valentine’s Day is coming up ^__^” ♥

Group shot (cropped)

In a few days it will be Lily’s 2nd birthday! What better way to celebrate than with a few lovely casual portraits of my first Dollfie Dream!
